Last night more games were played and more jockeying for position in the post-season was had. Thankfully the weather has continued to hold out nicely so no more disrupted games. That end of the season is coming like a speeding train for all of these leagues. While that means many of the teams below will not be covered, thankfully there are at least a couple of teams that will still be playing once the regular season ends.

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

The Gary SouthShore Railcats and Joliet Jackhammers

I am thinking that Gary actually just decided to give the Jackhammers this game. Then again, the Railcats are preparing for the post-season, so maybe not. The Jackhammers were just glad to pull out a win one against the Railcats. Of course, they had the home-field advantage this time, too.

The Schaumburg Flyers

It was another close game between the Flyers and the Kansas City T-Bones. This time, however, the Flyers ended up on the losing end of the stick.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The Windy City Thunderbolts

It was only a matter of time before the Kalamazoo Kings found a way to shut down the ‘Bolts offense and found a few breaks in the defensive armor of the ‘Bolts as well. The Kings teed off for 9 runs against the ‘Bolts. Windy City only managed to garner three.

The Rockford Riverhawks

The Traverse City Beach Bums still seem to have the Riverhawks’ number. The Beach Bums managed to double up the runs scored by the Riverhawks during last night’s game. The Beach Bums scored 6 runs while the Riverhawks only managed 3.

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

The Cougars looked like they had the game solidly in the bag after scoring 9 runs during last night’s game against the Peoria Chiefs. However, the Chiefs came back and tied up the game. The Cougars managed to finally drive in the winning run in the ninth.
