It became a very stormy night here in the Chicago area last night and that affected pretty much every game that involved the minor league baseball teams in this area.  It was also a night where the entire Northern League took the night off.

As such, this should be a pretty brief game wrap-up article for you.

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

As I mentioned, there were no games played last night throughout the entire league.  So, the Railcats, Flyers and Jackhammers all enjoyed a day off.  They will all be playing again tonight, weather permitting.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The Windy City Thunderbolts

The game between the Thunderbolts and Traverse City was postponed due to weather.  This will probably bring about a double-header today or very soon.

The Rockford Riverhawks

The Riverhawks, meanwhile, were trying to play a double-header to make up for a rain out.  However, the second game had to be suspended yet again due to weather.  The Riverhawks had managed to win the first game against the Kalamazoo Kings, but they were down 1 - 0 when the second game was suspended.

Game 1

FINAL SCORE:     Riverhawks  4       Kings  3

Game 2

Suspended

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

The six-game winning streak came to an end last night for the Cougars.  The Cougars’ starter Jason Fernandez had a bit of a rough night by givine up a career-high 12 hits nd six runs in 4 2/3 innings.  Five of those run were earned.  The Cougars trailed early and made several comeback attempts but the Great Lakes Loons just had it in for them and got 10 runs across.

FINAL SCORE:  Cougars  6          Loons   10
