Once again it seems as if championship football is being played in Kane County.  Although this past weekend’s game against the Racine Raiders ended up being a much closer game than anyone would have hoped for, the Kane County Eagles pulled out the win to go to 5 - 0 for the season.

It was a very close game.  The Raiders struck first on the opening drive with a touchdown.  The Eagles came back to tie it and then added two more points later in the first half.

The Eagles coach said it was their “worst game of the year.”  He compared the team’s play to that of a “beer league” team.

Still, the Eagles managed to get to 11 - 9 and then held off the Raiders for the win.

The next game is August 18 in Kansas City agains the Shockers.  Game time is 7 pm.

FINAL SCORE:   Eagles   11      Raiders    9
