What a gorgeous night it was here in the Chicago area.  After the two weeks of heat, humidity and horrific thunderstorms, it has finally turned nice here in Chicago.  The skies were clear and the air free of humidity and delightfully cool.  It was a perfect night for baseball.

For an account of my night, which was spent at Hawk-Ford Field watching the Thunderbolts play, check out my article which is linked here:  http://www.chicagominorleaguereview.com/a-night-of-fun-and-frustration-with-the-windy-city-thunderbolts/

For the rest of the scores, here you go:

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

The Schaumburg Flyers

The Flyers struggled against the Kansas City T-Bones in last night’s game.  The Flyers gave up 14 runs to the Kansas City team.

FINAL SCORE:   Flyers  8    T-Bones  14

The Gary Southshore Railcats and Joliet Jackhammers

This time it was the Railcats who came out swinging.  They sent a lot of runner across the plate to defeat the Jackhammers in his cross-town series.

FINAL SCORE:  Jackhammers  3       RailCats  11

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

Check out my article for the score of the Thunderbolts/Kings game.  Let’s just say the ‘Bolts continue to struggle a bit since the All-Star break and lost 5 – 1.

The Rockford Riverhawks

The Riverhawks continued their winning ways since the All-Star Break.  They managed to manhandle the Rascals and moved on to Traverse City.

FINAL SCORE:  Riverhawks  7    Beach Bums  3

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE  (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

The Cougars leapt out to a quick 5 – 0 lead against the Whitecaps last night.  They managed to hold off any rally attempt by the Whitecaps and win the game and hopefully snapping them out of their losing ways of late.

FINAL SCORE:   Cougars  5     White Caps  2
