Let’s get right to the games from last night in the various baseball leagues around town. Also, be sure to check out my short article about being interviewed by the Baseball Zealot. For those of you too busy to read that, you can listen to my interview by visiting: www.baseballzealot.com.

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

The Northern League actually had a day off yesterday. This is the first one in some time. The games resume tonight. Gary will be played at the Schaumburg Flyers. Fargo-Moorehead will be facing off against the Joliet Jackhammers at the Jackhammers’ stadium.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The Frontier League followed suit with the Northern League and took most of Monday off. Save for a game between the River City Rascals and the Southern Illinois team, there were no games played that affected any of the Chicago area teams. Play resumes tonight with the league-bottom-dwelling Slippery Rock Sliders facing off against the Windy City Thunderbolts. Washington is in Rockford to play the Riverhawks tonight as the ‘Hawks look to continue their recent winning ways

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

The game between the Cougars and the Dragons went on into 10 innings last night. A game-winning double by Sean Doolittle was what it took to break the tie and snap the Cougars out of their losing ways. The win was the first of the season for the Cougars in extra innings and against the Dayton Dragons

FINAL SCORE: Cougars 2 Dragons 1
