Another night, and still more baseball. In the Northern League, the Gary SouthShore Railcats are still in first place. Their record since the All Star Break is 8 - 6. Behind them is the Schaumburg Flyers who are 7 - 7 and one game behind. Joliet, sadly, is in last place with a 6 - 8 record.
In the Frontier League, the Windy City Thunderbolts are still firmly in first place. They currently have a record of 42 -17. The Rockford Riverhawks, meanwhile, continue to struggle. They are 28 - 30 and just above Traverse City at the bottom of the pile.
THE NORTHERN LEAGUE
The Gary SouthShore Railcats and Schaumburg Flyers
The Railcats’ bats finally opened up their can of whoop-ass on the Flyers last night. They managed to bring 7 runners across the plate during last night’s game while the Flyers could only manage to bring 2 across. It would have been a great time for the Flyers to catch up aganst the Railcats who are ahead of them in the lead of the division, but it was not to be.
FINAL SCORE: Railcats 7 Flyers 2
The Joliet Jackhammers
The RedHawks of Fargo-Moorehead brought down the Joliet Jackhammers last night. The Jackhammers continue to struggle in the division, and they are having a hard time even getting to .500 and staying there.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE
The Windy City Thunderbolts
The Thunderbolts and the Sliders managed to have a close game after the resounding defeats of the previous two games. Despite this, the Slipper Rock Sliders are still only 15 - 43, with the worst record in baseball. As such, it was still almost a foregone conclusion that the ‘Bolts would come out victorious in this match up

The Rockford Riverhawks
Washington beat up on the struggling Riverhawks. The Riverhawks came out of the All Star break showing a bit of spunk and determination. It was beginning to appear that the second half might be a different animal for the former champions. Now they appear to be struggling a bit again.
FINAL SCORE: Riverhawks 2 Wild Things 9
THE MIDWEST LEAGUE (AFFILIATED TEAM)
The Kane County Cougars
The Cougars kicked off a series against the Fort Wayne Wizards last night. Matt Smith of the Cougars hit his first professional home run during the game. Josh Horton finished 2-for-4 and the Cougars came away with a victory.
