It was a busy weekend as the Chicago area cleaned up from the storms that hit last week.  Joliet and Gary, for example, had to do a double-header on Saturday to make up for games that were missed last week.  Let’s get to them.

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

The Gary SouthShore Railcats and the Joliet Jackhammers

There was a double-header on Saturday and it did not turn out well for Joliet.  In fact, it was a rough weekend for the Jackhammers all around.

The Schaumburg Flyers

The Flyers faced off against the division-leading Kansas City T-Bones.  For whatever reason, the Flyers had a great weekend.  With the exception of Saturday, the games were all relatively close.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The Windy City Thunderbolts

The ‘Bolts had a double-header against Evansville on Friday.  They also played the Otters on Saturday and they soundly beat them.  They then started a series against Kalamazoo on Sunday.  The Kings also proved little of a match for the currently-streaking ‘Bolts.

The Rockford Riverhawks

Rockford had two games on the 24th and 25th to finish up with the Southern Illinois Miners.  They started their series against the Traverse City Beach Bums on Sunday.  The Riverhawks were very glad to see the Beach Bums after those losses to the Miners

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

The Cougars had a series against the Clinton Lumber Kings.  It was a series they probably enjoyed.  They managed to shut out the Lumber Kings twice during the three games played and hold them to only one run during the remaining game.
