It was a lovely day here in the Chicago area.  Of course, too many teams were on the road to really enjoy all of them.  Still, there were games a-plenty on Sunday and here are the scores for you, in case you missed them.
 

THE NORTHERN LEAGUE

The Schaumburg Flyers

The series against the Kansas City T-Bones has gone back and forth this weekend.  However, it sawed back toward Kansas City during yesterday’s game.

The Gary Southshore Railcats and Joliet Jackhammers

This has been an interesting cross-town series.  I honestly thought the Jackhammers were going to get swept by the steamroller that seems to be the Gary Soutshore Railcats.  Well, they managed to at least put up a bit of a fight, which is more than I can say the White Sox did against the Cubs.

THE FRONTIER LEAGUE

The weekend for the Windy City Thunderbolts has been particularly good.  They dominated their division during the first half of the season and they seem to be attempting to do the same thing for the second half.  On the other hand, they have been playing the rather sorry Gateway Grizzlies, so you have to take that into account too.

The ‘Bolts continued to dominate the Grizzlies yesterday.  However, the Grizzlies at least managed to score a few runs this time, after being shut out completely during the last couple of games.

The Rockford Riverhawks

Once again the Riverhawks proved that they should just play the River City Rascals for the remainder of the season.  Apparently much of their struggling vanished during the start of the second half of the season and against the St. Charles Missouri-based team.

THE MIDWEST LEAGUE  (AFFILIATED TEAMS)

The Kane County Cougars

Kane County lost their 1 – 0 lead in the sixth inning with a home run by the South Bend SilverHawk’s Brad Miller.  It was all downhill from there for the Cougars.
